Residential Terms of Trade
For ‘Open Ultimate’, ‘Open Plantation’,‘Open Smart', ‘Open Metal’, ‘Open Lite’ &
‘Open Coastal’ Shutters, Blinds
References below to “Us” or “We” mean Perth Plantation Shutters Pty Ltd.
References below to “You” mean the customer of Perth Plantation Shutters Pty Ltd.
1. These terms of trade apply to the supply & installation of products in owner-occupied dwellings. All other supplies or installations are governed by our Commercial Terms of Trade.
2. All quotes are valid for thirty (30) days from the date on which they are provided. Quotes are only valid if ALL products and services on the quote are purchased. If the specifics of the order differ from the specifics of the quote, the price will vary.
3. Any order given to us will only become binding on us when we receive a non-refundable deposit (refer to term 6) of the contract sum. Full payment is due on the day of completion of installation. Failure to pay on the day of installation (refer to term 8). If the deposit is tendered after the expiry of thirty (30) days from the quotation, or if you instruct us to delay supply to a date ninety (90) or more days from quotation, we reserve the right to increase the price following any increase in our costs. By placing your order, you charge the property at which we are contracted to supply the product you identify in the order with payment of all sums that are or may become due & payable by you to us.
4. As your order will be made to measure, the following conditions will apply:
All dates and times quoted for delivery or installation are estimates only.
Fly Screens:
Depending on where and how you have asked for the product to be installed, fly screens may not continue to be removable after installation.
Cleaning Instructions:
Regarding all shutters we advise cleaning with a soft damp cloth. You can use mild soap and water. Do not use harsh chemicals, silicon based cleaners or abrasive cloths.
Finishes for ‘Open Plantation’ Shutters:
There are three paint colours to choose from: white, cream and almond. We also offer oiled and lacquered finishes. We do not offer custom paint match on our ‘Open Plantation’ Shutters. Should you wish for custom paint, please see our ‘Open Ultimate’ Shutter range.
Finishes for ‘Open Smart’ Shutters:
There are three paint colours to choose from: white, cream and almond. We do not offer oiled and lacquered finishes or custom paint match on our ‘Open Smart’ Shutters. Should you wish for custom paint, please see our ‘Open Ultimate’ Shutter range.
Finishes for ‘Open Lite’ Shutters:
The only finish available is Open Lite White. It’s an extra 25% for custom colour painting. We will not custom paint with dark colours. There will be no warranty on the finish if you choose to custom paint.
Finishes for ‘Open Coastal’ Shutters:
The only finish available is Open Coastal White.
Finishes for ‘Open Metel’ Shutters:
Std Powder Coat Colours: Natural Anodised (Silver), Gloss White, Satin White, Alabaster, Satin Black, Light Cedar Timber Grain, Dark Cedar Timber Grain.
Non-Std Powder Coat Colours: any Dulux Powder Coat Range (POA).
5. Installation:
We require at least twenty four (24) hours notice of the cancellation of an appointment to install at the premises. If this condition is not met, we will charge you a fee equal to the cost of labour booked for the original appointment. We do not guarantee how soon a new booking will be available after a cancellation. Please remove all valuable furniture, artefacts and loose rugs prior to installation. We are not responsible for damage to any item of value that you leave too close or on the path that our installer must take, to the installation site. Some installations will take more than one day. If this occurs, we will require further access to the premises within 2 weeks of initial access.
6. Deposits Required:
‘Open Ultimate’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contract sum.
‘Open Plantation’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contact sum.
‘Open Smart’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contact sum.
‘Open Lite’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contract sum.
‘Open Coastal’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contract sum.
‘Open Metel’ Shutters: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contract sum.
Blinds: we require a non-refundable deposit of fifty per cent (50%) of the contract sum.
7. Warranties:
All warranties are valid only for so long as the premises remains owner occupied.
‘Open Ultimate’ & ‘Open Plantation’ Shutters:
being a natural product manufactured from Western Red Cedar, they will be affected by the environment & use. We stand by the workmanship in our product, which is manufactured from the finest grade timber, however we cannot be held responsible for modification by others, damage caused by accident, neglect, misuse or abuse, transportation or commercial use. The obligation of the manufacturer is limited to the repair or replacement of the shutters or shutter components found to be defective. Repairs will be made with like or similar parts. A defect is an imperfection, mark, dot etc that is visible with the naked eye, in natural daylight, at a distance of 1.2 metres.
‘Open Ultimate’ Shutters:
All ‘Open Ultimate’ shutters carry an on-going warranty for as long as the home is owner occupied. Warranty is on the raw material, workmanship & installation. Warranty covers the paint finish only. No warranty on the oil, clear & stain finishes.
‘Open Plantation’ Shutters: ‘Open Plantation’ shutters carry an on-going warranty for as long as the home is owner occupied. Warranty is on the raw material, workmanship & installation. Warranty covers the paint finish only. No warranty on the oil, clear & stain finishes.
‘Import’ Shutters: ‘Import’ Shutters carry a 2-year warranty on the raw material, workmanship, installation & on the paint finish only. ‘Import’ shutters are manufactured from Basswood timber.
‘Open Smart’ Shutters: ‘Open Smart’ Shutters carry a 5-year warranty on the material, workmanship, installation & on the paint finish only. Shutter frame is Western Red Cedar & the blades are Thermalite (PVC). Panels exceeding 750 mm wide have Aluminium inserts in the blades for extra strength.
‘Open Lite’ Shutters: ‘Open Lite’ Shutters carry a 5-year warranty on the material & workmanship. There is no warranty on custom painting. ‘Open Lite’ Shutters are manufactured from Thermalite, which is a solid polymer extrusion. As the material is extruded the finish is not perfect. The material is non-toxic, 100% man made polymer, which is a by-product of Natural Gas extraction.
‘Open Coastal’ Shutters: 5-year warranty on the material, workmanship & installation. There is no warranty on custom painting.
‘Open Coastal’ Shutters are manufactured from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) resin. The material is specially formulated, quality grade of engineered resin. It yields a colourfast product that won’t warp, shrink or chip.
‘Open Metel’ Shutters: 10-year warranty on the material & finish. The manufacturing is covered for 2-years.
Blinds: warranty is valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of installation. All warranties are void in the event of misuse, abuse or lack of ordinary maintenance.
Rental Properties & Commercial Use:
All Shutters & Blinds carry a one (1) year warranty if property is a rental or is to be used for commercial use. Please refer to our Commercial Terms of Trade.
8. Payment terms are strictly cash on delivery:
Title to products does not pass to you until we have been paid in full. Any amount not paid at delivery will accrue interest at the rate of two per cent (2%) per month, or part thereof, compounded monthly. If payment in full is not received within ninety (90) days of delivery, you authorise us to re-enter the premises & remove the products installed, without prejudice to any other rights we may have against you and without obligation to repair or re-instate. If you sell the premises or the products before we are paid in full, you will hold a portion of the proceedings of the dale (equal to the amount that you owe us, including interest) on bare trust for us.
